Delicious Grammar – How Fourth Graders Learn at BGS
For a short time, the fourth graders’ classroom turned into a “café,” where students were greeted by an unusual menu: pieces of cake labelled with words written in different grammatical cases. Their task was to identify the correct case name and match it with the appropriate grammatical form. After successfully completing the activity, they enjoyed their well-deserved treats.
The main goal of this activity was to help children see that grammar is not just a collection of strict rules found in textbooks. It is all around us in our everyday lives.
For our school, creative approaches like this are especially important, as learning through play is both more effective and more enjoyable.
