Global Money Week 2017
is being held from March 28 – April 2 with a message “Learn. Save. Earn.”
The National Bank of Georgia celebrates the Global Money Week and aims at increasing knowledge about financial education and entrepreneurship amongst students. BGS decided to join the National Bank of Georgia. A representative from NBG, Mariam Guniava, visited our students and held a mini lecture for BGS Senior Students about the importance of financial literacy, making savings and managing one’s own finances.
In order to celebrate the Global Money Week, BGS has decided to hold two other activities for our senior students:
A representative of OPTIO AI visited BGS and presented his start-up project to our senior students. OPTIO AI is a chat-bot programme that helps individuals manage their finances in a fun, interactive and easy way. He spoke about how they had started their project, where the idea came from, and how students can develop their own ideas into real projects.
Students from Years 11 and 12 were taken to visit The Cash Center of the National Bank of Georgia. They were hosted by a guide with a one-hour tour of the center. Tour was followed by a meeting with the president of the National Bank of Georgia. The visit was especially interesting for those students who have decided to continue their education in economics, finances or business studies.
