BGS administration decided to hold assemblies in English once a month, spotlighting the important moments of British culture, historical events, and traditions. They will be conducted for the students of the basic and secondary stages by Dr. Tamar Japaridze, one of the founders of the school. The October Assembly was already held on the theme of “Halloween”, about its pagan, Celtic roots, which grew into a Christian celebration in the Middle Ages, and later, already in the 19th century, turned into a folk entertainment in the USA. Ms. Japaridze also drew a parallel with the similar Georgian festivity of “Chiakokonoba”, which has followed the same path from the pagan period of fire worshiping to the present day.
