CERN Masterclasses for students

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. It would be quite difficult to summarize what is happening in an organization, where there are up to 40 million collisions of particles per second; for each collision data should be stores, filtered and then analyzed.

For couple of schools in Tbilisi, CERN organized educational masterclasses, with the purpose of provoking interest to the research the organization conducts. 9 BGS students participated, where they listened to theoretical lectures and then conducted practical research analyzes using examples and software from the real laboratory.
